Company founded.

Merged Tajimi Plant of Daido Steel and converted it to Nagase Plant.

1956 Started promoting graphite crucibles (MOREX).
1958 Absorbed Akechi Ceramics into TYK group.
1959 Absorbed Mizuno Ceramics into TYK group.
1960

Sumiyoshi Refractory Co., Ltd. founded.

Kunimitsu Refractory Co., Ltd. founded.

1961 Stock listed on the second section of the Nagoya Stock Exchange.
1963

Toyo Express Service Co., Ltd. founded.

Mizuno Ceramics Co., Ltd. founded.

1967 Machinery division spun off into Houei Kogyo Co., Ltd..
1968 Absorbed Hinomaru Refractory into TYK group.
1969 R&D Center established.
1971

Started promoting immersion nozzles of Alumina Graphite (ISOTEX) and

basic bricks burned at ultrahigh temperature (Super DX).

1972

Parklanes Co., Ltd. and Chunichi Home Co., Ltd. founded.

Started promotion of rotary nozzles.

1973 Akasaka works constructed.
1974 Stock listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1975 Toki Ceramics Co., Ltd. founded as as a separate company.
1976 Rotary Nozzle International S.A. founded in Belgium.
1977 European liaison office in Paris and U.S.A. liaison office in Chicago founded.
1978 Food service division spun off into Toshin Foods Co., Ltd..
1981 West Germany liaison office founded in Duisburg.
1982

Established TYK Co., Inc. in Pittsburgh, USA.

TYK Co., Inc. purchased Swank Refractories Co. and established TYK Swank Refractories Co..

1983 U.K. liaison office founded in London.
1984 TYK Swank Refractories renamed to TYK Refractories, Co.
1988

TYK Taiwan established.

Designation changed from Tokyo Yogyo to TYK Corporation.

TYK Limited Co. established in Durham, U.K.

1989 European liaison office and U.K. liaison office relocated to Durham.
1990 French office relocated to Lambersalt.
1991 Agent contract with Incotecnica Corp. in Spain.
1992 TYK Information Service Co., Ltd. established.
1995 TYK Europe GmbH established.
1996 Awarded for TPM Excellence First Category.
1998

TYK Refractories Co. renamed to TYK America. Inc.

Qualified ISO 14001.

2001 Qualified VDEh.
2002 Sumiyoshi Ref. and Kunimitsu Ref. merged into U-Ceramic Co., Ltd.
2004 TYK (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. established in China.
2005 Obtained 100% share of R.N.I. to make it a fully owned subsidiary.
